The head of the UA Anti Spam Bot project, Dmytro Vakulenko, spoke about this in an interview with Ukrinform.

“We are considering starting a function that will eliminate Russian or pro-Russian disinformation and propaganda. It is Russian narratives. It is not that easy to do, but it is needed,” he said.

Vakulenko noted that there are currently a lot of bots posing as real people spreading Russian narratives on Telegram.

According to him, the project team is currently focused on launching a tool to combat this phenomenon. In particular, it is looking for partners among institutions and organizations to assist in the implementation of such a function.

As reported by Ukrinform, the UA Anti Spam Bot was created in the early days of the full-scale invasion to combat the posting of comments on Telegram containing strategic information about the course of the war in Ukraine (about army movement). , about Ukrainian checkpoints, about the arrival of enemy missiles, etc.). Later, the bot’s functions were expanded and trained to remove various objectionable content: fake messages, links to phishing sites, 18+ content, etc.

In the spring of 2023, the UA Anti Spam Bot volunteer project team developed a chatbot that blocks comments on the Armed Forces counteroffensive on Telegram channels and groups.
