The magic eraser of Google Photos is without a doubt one of Google’s great successesas it served to differentiate itself significantly from its competitors, a success that now seems set to re-release the magical sound gum which, if this leak is confirmed (and there are good reasons to believe it will be), will see the light of the hand already close to the launch of Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro or maybe, according to some rumors, only with the latter.
The source of the leak is tweet user EZ, a Twitter account that appears to have been created expressly for publication of the assumption Google Pixel 8 promo video showing the magic sonic eraser at work. As I said, some voices have pointed out that this feature will, at least initially, be exclusive to the Pro model, but since the filter doesn’t mention it in any way and the video generally refers to the next generation, it’s likely that this feature will eventually make its way to both models.
Regarding how it works, the promotional video shows that a sound magic eraser can be used erase the sound of videos recorded with a smartphone, to eliminate those sounds that could slip into it and that we don’t want to remain in the final version. We’ll have to wait and see if it can be used with audio recordings, with which it can be just as or even more useful.
It looks like the new Pixel 8 series will introduce an Audio Magic Eraser feature to reduce video background noise.#Pixel8 #Pixel8Pro #GooglePixels pic.twitter.com/Tb23MoDuUI

There are no tracks or axeseven the magic sound eraser will be exclusive to the Pixel 8, if it also makes it to any of the previous generations of Google smartphones (specifically those with Tensor SoC), or even, as the search engine company did with the Google Photos magic eraser, will offer them, either from its launch, or subsequently, to Google One users (in this case, I think , that Google initially decides to keep it exclusively for its smartphones, because it represents a very interesting competitive advantage in this difficult market).
For its functionality, a magic audio eraser would be able to separate the different sound sources of each recording, to allow individual setting of each of them. And it’s like, of course, for each video and its creator, it will depend on the choice of what is considered to be kept in it and what sounds you want to eliminate. We’ve already seen some AIs capable of this type of operation in the past, although they usually specialize in very specific types of use, such as separating different instruments in music recordings.
