“Our vision was to create a project that would directly benefit the university. One of the 12 students involved in the project, Ahmed Raghab Ibrahim El-Shennawi, said, “The robot with artificial intelligence and equipped with ROS (Robot Operating System) optimizes the paperwork and document delivery process in university buildings.”

According to him, the robot uses two main models: machine learning and computer vision.

“It first uses a machine learning model to determine the best parking spots by analyzing various factors such as distance, street width, and traffic. “This model is based on historical data,” he said.

Kamal Mohammed, another student from Haneen Mohammed’s team, added that the device has the ability to distinguish between road signs and pedestrian signals.

“We implemented a computer vision model that decodes road signs, stop signs, and pedestrian signals. This optimizes the decision-making process as the robot navigates within university boundaries,” the student explained.

He stated that the main advantage of the robot is “significant time and effort savings when moving paper between buildings.”

As Ukrinform reports, students of the Technical University of Moldova created a robot with artificial intelligence to monitor the environment.
