According to data from Jon Peddie Research, sales of client PC CPUs reached 53.6 million units in the second quarter of 2023. That’s up 17% from the first quarter, though that’s where the significance lies break the downtrend from the last two years.
“The increase in client PC CPU shipments in the second quarter compared to the previous quarter is welcome positive news in that the results for this quarter and for the past two years have been dismal.”says Jon Peddie, president of JPR.
Other data provided by JPR are data from delivery of integrated graphics, a component that most processors have, which reached 49 million units in the quarter, up 14%. Embedded GPUs will grow at a CAGR of 2.5% from 2022-2026, reaching an installed base of 4.8 billion units by the end of the forecast period.
