We already told you when CORSAIR introduced the iCUE LINK technology that we are facing a design that marked before and afterand gamechanger what the Saxons say in relation to solutions designed to facilitate the assembly of computers. And it is that although this type of process has become easier over the years, there are some aspects that continue to generate a lot of resistance from many users, which discourages them from using certain components even though they would like to, or even prevents them from building their own computer, which is an experience that has a lot to do with it.
Last June, the first devices compatible with this technology began to hit the market, although CORSAIR already made it clear from its presentation that its commitment to iCUE LINK is very ambitious, so the list of compatible components will continue to grow in the short term. and medium term. And today we have a clear confirmation of this, from the company has just announced the arrival of this technology to its Hydro X Series liquid cooling systems.
Let’s remember that iCUE LINK simplifies the installation and management of components by not having to connect them all directly to the hub which controls them. Instead, each component has its own microcontroller, allowing different system elements that support this technology to be daisy-chained together, with only one needing to be connected to the System Hub. This makes mounting easier and also eliminates the need for a cable bundle that makes access difficult and a problem for the established chassis ventilation flow.
The new iCUE LINK compatible cooling blocks introduced today by CORSAIR offer us a solution for both CPUs and models iCUE LINK XC7 RGB ELITE and iCUE XC7 RGB ELITE LCDand for our graphics card with three variants of the GPU model iCUE LINK XG3 RGB HYBRID which can accommodate NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 and 40 series cards as well as AMD RX 7900 XT(X).
In addition to being compatible with this new connection and management technology, the iCUE LINK XC7 RGB ELITE also has new and improved Hexa-flow cooling engine, with a design that takes advantage of laminar flow to provide better cooling throughout the CPU and its cores. A nickel-plated copper cold plate with more than 120 highly efficient cooling micro-fins dissipates heat from the processor, and a built-in temperature sensor allows you to adjust the cooling control. And with regard to the aesthetic component, it integrates 24 RGB LEDs, which will take care of the unmistakable lighting of the brand.
The iCUE XC7 RGB ELITE LCD model, for its part, and as you might have guessed from the name, is similar to the previous model, but also includes a screen 2.1 inch IPS-LCD with a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels and capable of displaying up to 30 frames per second, which we can configure through the iCUE software to display system temperatures, custom images or animated GIFs.
As for the graphics part, the iCUE LINK XG3 RGB HYBRID has been designed to cool both the GPU and the memory of the graphics card. split flow collector, designed to guarantee an even distribution of the liquid on the copper plate when it is cooled, which is not possible if a single circuit is created that passes through the various elements sequentially. A dedicated fan also cools the circuit board and VRM, and yes, it also has RGB LED lighting made up of 18 LEDs.
CORSAIR Don’t forget users who already own the iCUE XG7 RGB GPU water block and who are interested in the benefits offered by iCUE LINK. Therefore, it also announced that an adapter will soon be launched to allow these existing cooling systems to be integrated into the infrastructure of components connected and managed via iCUE LINK. In addition, he also confirmed that future XG7 GPU blocks will support iCUE LINK connectivity out of the box.
Thanks to this technology, many users will finally be able to mount and manage this type of cooling system on their computers, allowing them have complete control over the operation of the chiller (flow rate, heat probe data, etc.) and of course also integrate your lighting with the rest of the system, all with a connection system that couldn’t be simpler.
CORSAIR’s new cooling blocks with iCUE LINK technology are now available on its website, and the iCUE LINK RGB GPU adapter is now available for pre-order and will be available in September.
