“Ingenuity has successfully flown to Mars 55 times already!” – said the laboratory.
During the last flight, Ingenuity Mars rotorcraft was recorded to fly 264 m in 143 seconds at an altitude of 10 m.
The helicopter also took new photos of Mars.
As Ukrinform reports, the Ingenuity helicopter was delivered to the Red Planet along with NASA’s Perseverance rover on February 18, 2022, after nearly seven months of flight. Ingenuity made its maiden flight on 19 April. The $85 million helicopter became the first plane to be launched from another planet.
