Kia Corp., South Korea’s second-largest automaker by volume, introduced the facelifted Sorento to the local market on Thursday to expand its SUV lineup.

The company said the updated Sorento will come in three different variants: a 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, a 2.2-liter diesel or a 1.6-liter hybrid turbocharged gasoline engine.
The 2.5-liter petrol model will sell for 35-42 million won ($26,000-31,000), the 2.2-liter diesel model for 37-44 million won ($27,000-33,000), and the “hybrid” 1.6l — 42. – 45 million won ($31,000 – $34,000).
This year, Kia plans to sell more than 70,000 Sorento SUVs in the domestic market, including the current fourth-generation model.
The company has yet to finalize its plans to launch the updated Sorento overseas.
The mid-size SUV is said to be equipped with a connected car navigation cockpit, a new infotainment system developed by Hyundai Motor Group, wireless software update capability, 10 airbags and other safety-related features.
As reported by Ukrinform, Tesla has launched two cheaper versions of the sedan Model S and SUV Model X in the US, but with a lower range and therefore continues to focus on cutting costs to increase sales.
