Zotac updates its ZBOX mini-PC, compact and fanless

Zotac is one of the world’s leading specialists in the design and manufacture of compact computers and has just updated its entry-level line, the Zotac ZBOX C Series Nano, with the latest generation of Intel Raptor Lake processors.

The new models continue the series with a chassis reduced in size 147 x 147 x 33 mma volume of less than two liters and with a passive dispersion system which no need for annoying fans. It comes with a 40-watt adapter and a VESA mounting kit for hanging on a wall or behind a monitor, increasing installation options that can truly be found anywhere on a consumer desk, office, kiosk or living room. Zotac ZBOX Series C Nano, Version

The manufacturer refers to the Raptor Lake U processors, which Intel primarily targets at the notebook market and which, due to their low consumption, are also used in compact computers. Zotac sells three versions depending on the processor installed:

  • CI629 Nano with Intel Core i3-1315U (6 cores 1.2 GHz, up to 4.5 GHz)
  • CI649 Nano with Intel Core i5-1335U (10 cores 1.3 GHz, up to 4.6 GHz)
  • CI669 Nano with Intel Core i7-1355U (10 cores 1.7 GHz, up to 5.0 GHz)

In addition to the processors, the manufacturer upgraded the RAM to a more modern standard such as ddr5 (up to 5200 MHz). For internal storage, there is an integrated M.2 SSD connector and a 2.5-inch SATA connection bay. Both components are easily accessible after removing the top cover.

Also upgraded the wireless to WiFi 6 and double the number of LANs with two Ethernets, one of which is 2.5Gb. There are three USB 3.1 ports and one USB 2.0 port on the back. Displays can be connected via DisplayPort or HDMI. The C Series can output 4K resolution at 60 Hz to up to three displays simultaneously.

On the front, we see support for multi-format memory cards, lined microphone and headphone jacks, a USB 3.1 port and an advanced Thunderbolt 4 port, which is also new to the line.

The Zotac ZBOX C Series Nano will be sold in assembled configurations or in a really interesting barebones variant so that the user can install their own RAM, storage and operating system of their choice. The series is officially compatible with Windows 11, although the manufacturer states that it also supports Windows 10 and Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS.
