The stable version of Android 14 is expected to be released this month. Thus, OEMs began their public beta program. Xiaomi is one of the first Chinese OEMs to launch this venture along with Oppo. As part of the first batch, the company only included two devices in the program. Unsurprisingly, the initiative is currently only available in China, although global ROMs are readily available for these phones.

According to Xiaomi’s official statement, the following smartphones are eligible for the Android 14-based MIUI beta.

• Xiaomi 13
• Xiaomi 13 pro

Registration for the public beta is ongoing and selected candidates are already getting the latest software via OTA. The beta versions of the phones we mentioned above come with MUI 14, which shows that the announcement of MIUI 15 may take some time.

We expect more devices to be added to the beta program in the coming days. There should also be global availability.

However, we have no information about the stable release schedule. Unlike its MIUI distribution plan, Xiaomi has historically not been known for revealing its Android update schedule.

Either way, we look forward to hearing more about it from the company. Also, hopefully the new update won’t hurt certain phones (especially the Poco) like it did in the past.
