Speech Processing Solutions, which markets audio and speech products under the Philips brand name, today introduced two new VoiceTracer products. Lovers of the spy counter will love the DVT1600 VoiceTracer Audio Recorder Pen, a pen that lets you record audio. Q couldn’t imagine it being more original.

The DVT1600 VoiceTracer Audio Recorder Pen looks like an ordinary pen and you can also use it to write notes. But at the touch of a button, the pen turns into a recorder. The pen has a built-in 360° microphone for recording voices. Thanks to the hidden USB-C dongle, you can then import recordings to your laptop or smartphone.

The battery lasts an average of eight hours between charges and when the battery is low, your recordings are automatically backed up. The pen is fully recharged in two hours. You can make and store up to 129 hours of high-quality recordings on the 32 GB internal memory of the Audio Recorder Pen. You can also save files there, which also turns the pen into a USB stick.

If you want to make it clearer to your interlocutors that they are being recorded, Speech Processing Solutions also offers the new DVT2015 VoiceTracer Audio Recorder. But that’s not a weekday writer either. The device has two voice microphones to create recordings in MP3 or PCM format, which you can transfer directly to your device thanks to the integrated USB connectivity as with the pen.

Also worth noting is the LCD screen that allows you to navigate through your saved files. The internal memory is 8 GB (expandable to 32 GB with an SD card): sufficient for 12 hours of PCM recording, 90 hours of HQ, 297 hours of SP and 2,370 hours of SLP. Artificial Transcript

Both recording devices are compatible with Sembly’s speech-to-text software. This tool uses artificial intelligence to convert voice recordings into written text. When you upload the recording files from your pen or recorder, Sembly writes the entire transcript. If you don’t feel like going through the entire script, the app also creates a summary with action points for the next meeting.
