This was reported by the BBC, Ukrinform reports.
The images were taken by Vikram, the lander of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft, which began the final phase of its mission on Thursday.
Vikram, carrying the lunar rover, is scheduled to land on Earth’s moon’s south pole on August 23.
Rocks and craters on the lunar surface are recorded with black and white photographs.
The Moon’s South Pole is still largely unexplored – the eclipsed surface area is much larger than the area of the Moon’s North Pole. According to scientists, this means that there is a possibility of water in areas that are constantly in the shade.
As Ukrinform reports, on July 14, the Indian Space Research and Development Organization (ISRO) launched the Chandrayaan 3 mission to the Moon.
