In February 2023, Google announced the Android 14 release schedule, and the first developer preview was released on the same day as the launch. The calendar planned by the company is very similar to the program prepared by the technology giant for Android 13.
On August 18, Google released the beta version of Android 14 5.1, which is now the final version of the operating system. This final beta is for public testing. If you have a supported Pixel phone (or Pixel tablet), you can download the Android 14 5.1 beta now.
According to the organization’s release date schedule, the next update should be a stable launch. The system reached platform stability in June, so now it’s all about fixing bugs and getting ready for prime.
Since Android 14’s release schedule is very similar to Android 13, it’s fair to assume that Google will follow a similar approach. Last year, Google released two developer previews and eight betas for Android 13 before rolling out the official update. If Google does something similar this year, there’s a good chance we’ll see Android 14 launch in late August or early September. However, there is no guarantee that there will be no delays.
As for phones that will receive the new OS, you can expect all versions of Pixel that have not yet reached the main OS update limit, which means every Pixel after Pixel 4a 5G. This specifically includes the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet.
The Android 14 release date for the Pixel will likely come before the rest, as usual. But Samsung, OnePlus etc. It’s a little harder to predict the operating system release date for We’ll learn more about these launches in the coming weeks.
