NASA’s Perseverance rover showed video of the Ingenuity helicopter’s 54th flight to the Red Planet in early August.
As reported by Ukrniform, this was reported by NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in 2019. x (formerly Twitter).
“Perseverance captured this video during the 54th flight of Ingenuity’s Mars rotorcraft as it glided 5m above the surface and maneuvered to the left before landing again,” the lab said.
NASA’s Ingenuity helicopter successfully completed its 54th flight on 3 August. It only took 25 seconds.
As Ukrinform reported, the Ingenuity helicopter was delivered to the Red Planet on February 18, 2022, along with NASA’s Perseverance rover, after nearly 7 months of flight. Ingenuity made its maiden flight on 19 April. A helicopter worth $85 million. The United States became the first aircraft launched from another planet.
