Microsoft has recently released a cumulative update to fix a number of issues and bugs in Windows 11, but this is causing a blue screen of death (BSOD) on some systems with certain drivers.

This is an update for Windows 11 KB5013943. Therefore, the desktop becomes unresponsive due to compatibility issues between drivers and updates. One user said that he has had a BSOD within 10-15 minutes while playing Hitman 3 since the update.

While Microsoft has not yet acknowledged the bug, Sophos experts have confirmed that the update may lead to a “blue screen of death” on computers. To fix the error, experts recommend uninstalling the update by following these steps:

  • Select Start > Preferences > Windows Update.
  • Stop the update for 7 days.
  • Open the control panel.
  • Click Programs and Features.
  • Click “View installed updates”.
  • Find and delete KB5013943.
