It’s an open secret that Microsoft is a big fan of artificial intelligence. According to Windows Central, a truckload of new AI capabilities for Windows is on the way. Microsoft wants to revise several system apps in Windows 11 and equip them with artificial intelligence.
One such app is Paint. The photo editing app threatened to disappear from Windows a few years ago, but has now been fully restored by Microsoft. The next innovation for Paint would be a “Magic Paint” button. This button allows you to generate an image based on a text description, just like Bing Image Creator or Dall-E. You can then share Paint’s image editing capabilities with that image.
According to Windows Central, Paint is just the tip of the AI iceberg. Microsoft is also said to be working on AI features for the Windows photo apps: Photos, Camera and Snipping Tool. In the Photos app, the AI looks for recognizable people or objects in your photos, making it easy to cut and paste them onto a different background.
The camera app and the snipping tool have optical character recognition. This technology allows you to filter text from an image and also copy and paste it into other files.
It is still unclear when the rollout of these features could start. This may already be possible with the Windows 23H2 update. It promises to usher in the artificial renewal of Windows with the addition of the copilot, among other things.
