There is no doubt that Paint and Photos have become two popular core applications in the Microsoft ecosystem and as such are integrated into Windows 11. I have to say that I use both applications quite often because ultimately, despite how simple and limited they are menu great functional valueand they perfectly cover part of my needs.

Microsoft is aware that the value of both lies in their simplicity and ease of use, which is why they haven’t introduced major changes to either. you already know if something works, don’t touch it. However, according to a recent leak, Microsoft is preparing a very important improvement that will affect Paint and Photos, and which could also extend to the snipping tool.

These improvements would be based on applying artificial intelligence to the three apps, although the source said that in order to take advantage of these new AI-powered features, it would be necessary to have specific hardware which would be in charge of acceleration work, such as VPU, which will integrate Meteor Lake processors, and Ryzen AI, present in the Zen 4 architecture.

In app widgets, the AI enhancements used in Windows 11 would allow access optical character recognition function, which would allow you to identify text in images and apply copy and paste directly to it. We would have something new in the photo application labeling and identification functions this would allow us to select objects and people in our photos and isolate them from the image.

We jumped into Painting and found an important improvement that started from generative capabilities of AI which we’ve seen with the Bing image creator, which means we could use the app to create images using artificial intelligence by giving the app a series of specific instructions.

Everything I just told you would be only part of the important effort that Microsoft is making to introduce artificial intelligence in Windows 11, which we have already seen perfectly reflected in Windows Copilot. However, we must take into account that these new functions are in the early stages, and therefore it will still have to go through various stages and tests before reaching the final version available to the common user. Patience, you know Microsoft takes these things in stride.
