Let’s start from the ground up and that’s it calling it a CORSAIR Platform: 6 desktop is like using the word car to refer to a Ferrari. And it is that yes, in both cases the choice of term is correct, because it is the word that most quickly suggests the nature and raison d’être of what they refer to. However, as you already know in the case of Ferrari, and as I will explain below in the case of this Platform:6, the problem is that both terms can be very short.

Perhaps a good starting point is to drop the term desktop and use something more ambitious: work station, because it is much more than just a simple fixed surface on which we place the elements we want, because it provides us with additional functions and advantages that we cannot find in ordinary tables. And very importantly, these features and benefits are the result of a complete analysis of user needs, among which I undoubtedly reflected when I saw this proposal for the first time. But you must be wondering what is so special about it, so let’s get to it.

For some time now, the habit of using a computer standing up, either alternating this position with sitting, or permanently, has been gaining ground. The CORSAIR:6 platform responds to this requirement by having sA motorized system that allows you to freely and dynamically adjust its height. That way, we won’t have to decide on a fixed structure of one height or another, but we can adjust it at any time, just by pressing a button.

To facilitate the mounting of the monitor (or monitors) includes arms for two monitors which will allow us to better adjust its position and orientation and at the same time give us more free space on the desktop, which will undoubtedly be appreciated especially by users who, for whatever reason, accumulate a large number of objects on it. Another very important element when we talk about workstations is the cabling, which in many cases is a perfect example of the universe tending towards entropy. To avoid chaos Platform:6 includes a CORSAIR RapidRoute cable management stack large size, which, in addition to keeping cables hidden, allows for a cleaner and more organized organization. In addition, thanks to its considerable dimensions, this space can also be used to place power strips, USB duplicators, etc.

So far we’ve talked about the surface of the desktop and its ability to place objects, but the truth is that the spatial needs of many users can go much further, and this is where another more than remarkable aspect of the Platform comes into play: 6, its extension to increase storage capacitywhich in this respect substantially increase its capacity, making it a unique option in the ratio between the space it occupies and the capacity it offers.

So on the one hand we find side extensions, which we can place on both sides of the CORSAIR Platform:6 and each of which provides an additional 30 x 70 centimeters. Or, if we want, we can choose perforated shelves in which we can hang various objects. We have both frames to place on the sides of the workstation, as well as a large top-mount frame that we place vertically behind the monitor arms, which, together with different types of supports, can be used for all types of objects that we want to have close at hand when using a PC.

In this regard, and this will be of particular interest to content creators, CORSAIR will also launch under the auspices of its brand aimed especially at these users, Elgato Multi Frame extension, which you’ll find in a special edition of Platform:6 called the Creator Edition, which will have adjustable height and a rubberwood finish, among other features. And of course, will include adapters for Elgato Multi-Mount and Flex Arm productswhich allows you to mount key lights, cameras or microphones directly on the rail system, in a fast, simple and absolutely reliable way.

Do all users need all these features? Not really, so a workstation with all of the above may be too much for many of them.
