According to what we can read in Ghacks, Firefox can now import extensions that a user has installed in Google Chromeand we are talking about the stable version of the browser, not the Beta, Developer Edition or Nightly, that means it is already available (but…) for all users who want to use it.

Well, if you are a Mozilla browser user, you already know that this is not a big problem either. In fact, its activation is a fairly simple process. Of course, before you do that, remember… this is a feature that’s still being tested, so it might not work well, so be careful.

Issued a security warning, These are the steps you need to take to import Chrome extensions into Firefox:

1. Type “about:config” (without the quotes) into the Firefox address bar and press Enter.
2. Confirm the security message by clicking the “Accept risk and continue” button.
3. Use the top bar to find the string “browser.migrate.chrome.extensions.enabled” (without quotes).
4. If the displayed value is “False”, double-click the item to change it to “True”. On the other hand, if True has already been displayed, you don’t need to do anything because you have already activated it.
5. With the function active, just go to the Firefox menu, click on “Settings” and in the window that opens, make sure that you are in the “General” section and click on the “Import data” button.
6. A new window will then open in which you select your browser, in this case Chrome (along with its profile if you have more than one). Then click on the “+” sign to open a list of all types of elements that you can import from Chrome, and of course choose Extensions and uncheck the others (unless you want to take the opportunity to move more elements, of course ).
7. When the process is complete, a message will appear indicating the number of successfully imported extensions. You may also see an exclamation mark on a yellow background in the Firefox menu. Click it, then click “Finish installing imported Firefox extensions” to take you to their settings and/or information pages.
