The Indian Space Research and Development Organization (ISRO) has shown the first photo of the Moon taken after the Chandrayaan-3 mission’s successful landing on the Earth satellite.
As reported by Ukrinform, ISRO reported it as follows: x (formerly Twitter).
“Mission Chandrayaan-3: Image taken after landing,” the agency said.
It is stated that the photo shows part of the Chandrayaan-3 landing site.
“You can also see the (landing module) leg and its accompanying shadow. Chandrayaan-3 chose a relatively flat area on the lunar surface,” ISRO added.
Later in the section AdditionalIt was stated that the lunar rover rolled from the lander towards the surface of the Earth satellite.
“Ch-3 Rover abandoned lander and walked on the Moon!” – said ISRO.
As Ukrinform reported, on August 23, India became the fourth country to successfully land the Chandrayaan-3 mission on the Moon.
The mission has landed near the Moon’s south pole and will survey its surroundings for approximately one lunar day (about 14 Earth days).
