GIGABYTE has introduced the new BRIX Extreme to update its line of mini-PCs, one of which should fill the gap left by the end of Intel NUC production.

The new BRIX Extreme follows the line square, light and extremely compact design from previous models. The manufacturer offers them in two versions, ultra-thin “Slim” and “Tall”, which adds an additional 2.5-inch bay to increase the storage capacity with hard disks or SATA SSD.

BRIX can be expanded with an optional upgrade kit that includes an I/O expander for a second LAN connection, an RS232 communication port and an M.2 2280 slot. This kit increases flexibility and adapts to different applications. thanks to VESA support, it can be placed anywhere and integrated into shops, offices, schools or consumer desks.

GIGABYTE BRIX Extreme: great performance

The manufacturer is committed to the latest AMD Ryzen Mobile as the main engine for its compacts. We see quite a few options, from the basic Ryzen 5 7535U to the powerful ones Ryzen 7 78404nm ZEN4 development, with 8 cores, 16 threads and a working frequency of up to 5.1 GHz. Graphics are just as important as the processor, and this model includes an integrated one Radeon 780M with RDMA3 architecture capable of simultaneously receiving content on up to three screens with 4K resolution.

The memory part has also been updated to the latest DDR5 standard with a capacity of up to 64 GB at 5600 MHz in two SO-DIMM modules. For storage, it includes an M.2 connector on the board where the SSD drive is installed. The listed variants allow you to increase the capacity with a double M.2 or 2.5″ slot.

Very complete also in connectivitywith 2.5G Ethernet LAN, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth and HDMI 2.1, Display Port 1.4 and USB Type C outputs. It also has USB 3.2 Gen2 (3), 1 USB 3.2 Type C, 2 USB 2.0 and 1 USB Type C connectors with Display Port.

GIGABYTE will launch its BRIX Extreme in assembled configurations as well as a Barebone format, so the user installs their own memory, storage and operating system.
