Now even Paint will have its own AI

Bing Image Creator is a neural network that creates an image based on the user’s text description. It is an analogue of the popular Midjourney, but from Microsoft.

How is it going to be?

Windows Central has released an internally recommended mockup of Paint’s updated AI-enabled interface. This is expected the “Magic Paint” button will appear in the program, which will be placed on the side toolbar. It will make it possible to create images with the help of the text description. The result after that can already be edited on the canvas.

It is not clear how useful such technology could be in Paint, as its capabilities are extremely primitive and out of reach of many other image editing programs.

The release date of the update is not yet known.. Most probably. The new Paint will only be available to Windows 11 users and will exclude fans of Windows 10, let alone older versions of the operating system that are no longer supported. The publication’s sources claim that the program is still in the experimental phase; The company is “deciding how to include more AI features in Windows.”

so be it but Expect a big presentation on September 21It’s where Microsoft will showcase its new Surface devices and talk about Windows, so the first announcement is likely to be made then. Additionally, the next major version of Windows will be released in 2024 (probably number 12) and will be further integrated with artificial intelligence. So if the current integration with AI is pretty superficial, everything could change radically in the future, including primitive programs like Paint.

Note that AI functions can also be used in other Windows apps: “Photos”, “Camera” and “Scissors”. The first will be able to identify people in a photo, cut them from the background and insert them into other images. It’s no surprise that Microsoft is working to bring it to Windows, as competitors have had this feature for a long time. “Camera” and “Scissors” will also receive support for text recognition in photos and screenshots, which will make working with graphic resources much easier.
