It is enough to search for songs by name; hum them on YouTube

How often does this unpleasant situation happen to you when you remember a song, when you do not know the name or even remember the lyrics? Even if we can’t remember a melody in its entirety, we can hum it for hours. YouTube wants to make this a thing of the past with a new feature that lets you find a song that’s on your mind.

How does it work

It is important to know that this feature is currently in the testing phase. Although most such experiments reach a full-fledged release, sometimes one or another company cancels the innovation without realizing it to the general audience. The reasons may be different: insufficient efficiency, unreasonable expectations, bad practice or something else. Therefore, this possibility cannot be ruled out.

According to the official statement of the company; Besides being able to hum to find the song you want, you can also save the song to identify it.. It looks like it will be something similar to the Shazam app.

If you’re a YouTube user and want to try the new feature this year, you’ll have to turn on voice search to find the song you’re looking for. After that hum or record the song for at least three seconds. When a song is detected, you will be directed to the relevant content on the platform.

Due to the experimental nature of this feature, it is currently only available to a “small percentage” of YouTube users using Android. This means we have to wait a while for the new feature to finally reach the masses. Interestingly, the company hasn’t said anything about whether this will be released in a separate YouTube Music app, but logically it should appear here first.
