Popular whistleblower Revegnus (@Tech_Reve) recently reported that Samsung will begin mass production of mobile screen smartphones by 2025, paving the way for revolutionary changes in smartphone design and functionality. The upcoming phones are showcased to showcase advanced under-panel camera (UPC) technology and advanced bezel-less design.
From foldable to foldable: Samsung 2025 eyes
This latest discovery is consistent with previous demonstrations of Samsung’s innovative display technology. At the K-Display 2022 event, Samsung attracted attention by introducing prototype models of foldable screens, foldable tablets, and products with interesting names such as “Flex G” and “Flex S”. Considering their past performance, it’s hardly surprising that Samsung is turning to foldable smartphones.
Samsung plans to start mass production of foldable smartphones in 2025
Another indication of their commitment to flexible displays was SID Display Week 2023 in the US, where Samsung Display introduced its 12.4-inch flexible foldable OLED panel. Extending from a compact 49 millimeters to an impressive 254.4 millimeters and offering transformative 5x magnification, this panel has captivated visitors.
The excitement about the anticipated frameless design is also of great interest. Korean media giant The Elec previously reported on a collaboration between Samsung, LG and Apple aimed at developing front bezel-less OLED displays. Opinion? Apple has also filed a patent for a device with a rotating or sliding screen; this points to possible integration into future products such as iPhone, iPad and Macbook. According to a previous report, Apple is working on a MacBook with a foldable display in 2026.
Achieving such ambitious project goals requires further development of display technology. Both Samsung Display and LG Display are working to develop Thin Film Encapsulation (TFE) and Under-Panel Camera (UPC) technologies.
But they also face the challenge of providing enough space for the antenna in these futuristic designs. As these technology giants grapple with these technological nuances, both the industry and consumers are eagerly awaiting a new era in smartphone innovation.
