Now official: Android note-taking will have bold, italic, underline and title formatting starting today

We knew it was on the way and even got a preview of what it would look like, but so far Google hasn’t said much about support. Rich text of Google Keep notes. Now it has done so and officially announced the innovation and its official launch.

Something not found in Google Keep but found in other note apps is the ability to use minimal formatting in text rather than being limited to plain text. Google decided from the start Keep it simple with plain textand anyone who wants a formatted text can use Google Docs.

Ten years later, Google thought about it and finally confirmed: text format coming to Continue starting today. First we can use it on new notes and after a few weeks we can edit our existing notes to add formatting.

This button opens the formatting toolbar with the following buttons:

  • H1: formats the line of text as a first-level heading.
  • H2: formats the line of text as a second-level heading.
  • Ah: changes the format of the line to standard, by default.
  • B: makes the selected text bold.
  • Hey: places the selected text in italics.
  • OR: Underlines the selected text.
  • You: Removes formatting from the selected text.
  • X: Close the format bar.

Google says Keep format is coming to Android to all users from todayhowever, it has a delivery time that could potentially be longer than 15 days.
