19FortyFive says the “monster mode” of the American fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighter is a real “nightmare” for Russia.
The publication reminds that in the “monster mode” this aircraft can carry about four times more ammunition than inconspicuous. The newspaper said, “Using external mounts as well as internal weapon bays, the F-35 can carry 22,000 pounds (about 10 tons) of weapons.”
In particular, the fighter can simultaneously carry up to 14 AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles and two AIM-9 Sidewinder air-to-air missiles. “Of course, the flight range of the F-35 at full load has been halved from 2,800 kilometers to 1,400 kilometers,” the statement said.
The publication notes that the low-vision mode F-35 Lightning II allows you to gain an advantage in the airspace in the first days of the conflict, and then this fighter can be used as a conventional fighter to attack enemy positions.
