YouTube Music lyrics reach more users

Although when we talk about music streaming services, YouTube Music is not usually the first thing that comes to mind, the truth is that Google has been improving the service for a long time. According to what they say, their catalog already exceeds a hundred million pieces, which we can better understand if we consider that the service can partially feed it with all the content uploaded to the platform and that it already has the appropriate tools to manage their rights.

On the other hand, we have also seen how it goes adding new features, improving existing ones and redesigning its interface, repeating a signature Spotify feature on this latest occasion. And in terms of content, YouTube Music has also added to the inclusion of postcasts in its catalog, although it is true that the international deployment of this feature, which debuted exclusively in the United States last April, is proving somewhat slower than it would have been desirable, although we can understand that this is related to his intention to establish complete catalogs and probably some other exclusivity in each local market.

So it seems that after trying the music streaming market without success on previous occasions with other proposals, Google has decided to put all the meat on the grill with YouTube Music. Something that should undoubtedly be appreciated, because the more competition there is in the market, the more options for users. And at this point, YouTube Music contributes a certain peculiarity of its nature and origin (YouTube itself), which enriches the offer.

Of course, it is evident that in this market (well, in fact, practically any) some can’t stop looking at each other, something that is also positive. A clear example of this is live lyrics, a feature that is highly appreciated by many users who want, either because they want to shout at each other or simply because they want to read the message of the songs they are listening to. their streaming service to have such a feature.

Google began testing the service at the end of last year, but until now its scope has been extremely limited. However, as we can read on ZDNet, the company opened the tap and subsequently YouTube Music’s live lyrics feature has started reaching out to a lot more Android and iOS users. And in this case, I can personally confirm it, because I was already able to test it with my personal account on both operating systems.

Its performance is as expected, I listened and “read” a few tracks and the synchronicity was perfect in all cases. To access the lyrics, just start playback and a small bar with three tabs (More, Lyrics and Related) will appear at the bottom of the interface. So we will only have to select the latter, and if the service has lyrics, it will begin to appear in sync with the playback of the corresponding song.
