The white gunman who shot three black men at a Dollar General store in Jacksonville, Florida was the perpetrator. A 21-year-old who bought guns legally and had no criminal record.This was reported by the local police on Sunday.

The shooter, Ryan Christopher Palmerer, lived with his parents in suburban Jacksonville, Sheriff T.K. Waters said at a news conference.

The attacker died from self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Authorities described the shooting as racially motivated and said the man wrote “several manifestos” to the media, his parents and authorities, detailing his hatred of black people.

However, the sheriff said that Palmer was briefly detained in 2017 under a state law called the Baker Law, which states that a person can be “taken to a reception center for compulsory evaluation” during a mental health crisis.
