The Italian police said that during the voting and speeches of the participants in Turin, they had to repel many cyberattacks on the network infrastructure, both in the semi-finals on May 10 and in the finals.
Details of the attack are not yet clear. No official statement was made from the organizers of the song contest.
The organizers of the attack have already been found – the roads lead to Russia
The police have already identified the perpetrators of the Eurovision cyberattack, including the Killnet hacker group and a member of the Legion.
Meanwhile, on May 14, the telegram channel coordinating the group Legion received messages coordinating the DDOS attacks on the Eurovision Song Contest servers. The attack began at 22:13 and at 22:43 the coordinators ordered the attack to be stopped without explanation.
But the Russians did not listen much and continued to “suck” the servers. The organizers therefore had to convince the attendees that the cyberattack had to be stopped and urged them to “understand the demand”. Ucrainophobic expressions were also used.

Later, the organizers of the attack said that “it is necessary” and everything “goes according to plan”, and also announced an event – “you will see everything yourself tomorrow.”
Note that on May 13, the pro-Kremlin hacker group Killnet announced that it had disabled the online voting system using a DDoS attack. The voting service was flooded with traffic to make it difficult to process requests from users. Eurovision organizers later said they were in control of the situation.
How Eurovision 2022 went:
- This year, the Kalush Orchestra won the song contest with the song Stefania by a record margin of votes. In total, the Ukrainians scored 631 points.
- After their live performance, the band members called for the rescue of Mariupol and Azovstal. Experts were worried they might be disqualified, but the organizers of the contest saw human appeal, not political appeal.
- By the way, after the words of Oleg Psyuk, the number of queries “Azovstal” in Google increased. Europeans began searching en masse for information on what was going on.
- Second place went to England – singer Sam Ryder with 466 points. Chanel took the third place with 459 points.
