The ecosystem of generative AI image models is getting Ideogram these days, a new service of this type. This could hardly be news, because with the boom of this type of service quite a few “smaller” models appear on the Internet, although in general the results they offer are far below what we have already seen in the most popular ones, such as Midjourney or DALL- E, so they don’t add anything new, except maybe more availability than the most famous and successful ones.

However, the ideogram does not fall into this group, mainly for two reasons. The first we find in the members of this project, among whom we find ex-Google Brain employees, which already brings us on the way We are not talking about an amateur project (with all due respect to the fans, don’t get me wrong). The team also includes artificial intelligence experts from Berkeley and the University of Toronto.

Now you’re probably thinking that Ideogram’s creator bio doesn’t make the service good or bad, and the truth is, you’re absolutely right. The key to what really sets this generative image model apart from other designs of its type is something that those behind it have been promising for some time but haven’t yet arrived, and that’s Ideogram is able to generate readable text on images.

However, it is important to mention at this point that text creation doesn’t always work wellOf course, when it does, the result is of course miles ahead of what any other image-generating AI has to offer in that regard, because let’s remember they always generate nonsensical scribbles to this day. So if you try this service, chances are you will need to do more than one generation to get the desired result. Of course, when the text function is correct, the result can be sensational, as you can see in the image above.

As for the quality of the image generation, the truth is that it is a little below the level already provided by other services, but given that we could see the evolutionary capacity in them, I have no doubt that Ideogram will go in the same direction, but it has the advantage that its ability to generate text is already far ahead of its competitors. And this is a huge advantage when checking what users of this type of service want.
