More details and the selling price of the Lenovo Legion Go have surfaced, a device that should definitely support the handheld gaming sector. This will be announced this week at IFA 2023.

Portable consoles were supplanted by the versatility of smartphones at the time, but now they are living a new youth. From the Nintendo Switch, which must be included due to its mobility, to the Steam Deck, which was undoubtedly a big shock. And we have to add Ally from ASUS and how much comes from Chinese specialists ONE or AYANEO. Sony may be lagging behind in simple peripherals, but it’s still not too late to launch a stand-alone device. And Microsoft is missing with a portable Xbox, which cannot be ruled out either. No one wants to be left out of a “hot” market.

Lenovo Legion Go, final specifications and price

We’ve already brought you images and information about the machine, and now the first leaker, Windows Report, is back with new information that virtually complete everything there is to know of that which is considered to be “Steam Deck with Windows”. In the absence of an official announcement, which we expect at IFA 2023 this week, we’ll review parts of it.

Screen. At 8.8 inches, it would be noticeably larger than the Steam Deck or Ally. The resolution would also be improved to QHD+ (2560 x 1600 pixels), refresh rate to 144 Hz and maximum brightness up to 500 nits. It would have touch technology.

SoC, memory and storage. Lenovo would bet on AMD Z1 Extreme as the main engine, the same one used by ASUS Ally. It would be accompanied by 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM (at 7500 Mhz) and internal storage from 256 GB to 1 TB with PCIe 4.0 SSD.

drivers. Similar to the joy-cons Nintendo Switch has buttons and side triggers. Also triggers on the back and a wheel on the side of the right controller, which also includes a small touchpad.

battery. An important matter for mobile devices. Lenovo could offer a 49.2 Wh battery, which is about 20% larger than those equipped with ROG Ally and Steam Deck. However, the biggest difference will be support for fast charging up to 65W.

connectivity. Two USB Type-C (brand new USB4) ports, one on the bottom and one on the top, are confirmed, plus a 3.5mm headphone jack, volume rocker, power button and micro SD card slot. It should support Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. It would integrate two 2-watt stereo speakers.

Accessories. Lenovo will launch various peripherals to complement its portable console. From what has been leaked so far, the machine would have peripherals such as wireless headphones, Legion E510 7.1 RGB and Legion glasses, AR glasses, which could be the perfect addition if, as they say, it will be a model optimized for games and scale economy .

Price and availability. The leak talks about $799 as the selling price. Much more expensive than the Steam Deck, although with better hardware in all its parts. It would come pre-installed with Windows 11 and would be a high-end model designed for AAA gaming, allowing you to play in the cloud or run games from libraries like Steam or GOG.
