There is no doubt that Sony was the winner of the previous console generation war, and thanks to the latest published data, we know that the PS5 beats the PS4 in comparable sales period for period, i.e. in the same time intervals. .. The difference in favor of PS5 is 5% and this only confirms that the mentioned console was extremely successful.

On the other hand, saying that the PS5 beats the PS4 is practically equivalent to saying that it is the undisputed winner of the current generation of consoles, but how does the Xbox Series X and Series S stack up against the Xbox One? It’s a great question and we have the answer, 10% behind, i.e. in the same time period.

When we talk about the same time period we mean the life cycle completed from its launch to the present. With the Xbox One clearly losing out to the PS4, and seeing the PS5 beat the PS4 in sales, it’s clear that a lot would have to change before the Xbox Series X and Series S return to become the best-selling consoles of this generation .

Nothing is impossible, but of course Microsoft consoles don’t have it easy. According to VGChartz data, the PS5 has been sold so far 40.83 million unitsalmost double the Xbox Series X and Series S combined 22.82 million units sold. The difference is large and has grown in favor of Sony’s console in recent months, so even this allows us to see that the sales trend favors the PS5.

Nintendo Switch doesn’t play in the same league hardware-wise and it’s not fair to make direct comparisons with PS5 and Xbox Series X and Series S since it was launched much earlier (March 2017), but to give you a better perspective the full description of how things are, I can confirm , that it has been sold until now 128.48 million unitsmore than triple that of the PS5 and nearly six times that of the Xbox Series X and Series S.
