NVIDIA announces the arrival of DLSS in more games

Gamescom 2023 took place last week and without a doubt NVIDIA was one of the tech companies that was most interested, due to the enormous number of announcements made under cover of the meeting held in Cologne, Germany. The highlight was undoubtedly the announcement of DLSS 3.5 with its AI flash reconstruction feature. Recently we were able to see the difference between DLSS 3.1 and DLSS 3.5 with image generation and as we said, the result is spectacular.

That wasn’t, well, the only announcement, far from it. In this publication, we have collected the most notable announcements, from Half-Life 2 RTX project with NVIDIA REMIXa remaster of the Valve classic that looks incredible and has several teams of modders working on it, until the highly anticipated arrival of Xbox Game Pass games to GeForce Now, as well as the arrival of DLSS 3 to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. III, PAYDAY 3 and Fortnite.

So one might think that after the event the following weeks would be quieter in terms of new announcements, but it seems that won’t be the case and it is NVIDIA has decided to say goodbye to this month of August with more newsin this case with the announcement of new titles that will gain DLSS support, which as you already know translates into a big improvement in image quality and fluidity for all users with graphics cards (both dedicated and integrated). RTX 20, 30 and 40 series.

Before we look at new games compatible with this technology, let’s recall that there are currently two versions of it that are implemented in games. On the one hand we have DLSS 2, which is compatible with all three generations mentioned above. Despite the fact that some have argued that with the arrival of DLSS 3 NVIDIA and developers will forget about the users of the 20 and 30 series, the truth is that the commitment shown to these users has not waned at all.

On the other hand, a Hand in hand with the Ada Lovelace architecture and the RTX 40 series, NVIDIA presented DLSS 3, a deep evolution of the previous iteration and which, in addition to improvements in frame scaling, brought us as a main novelty the automatic generation of frames with the help of artificial intelligence, which serves to significantly improve the fluidity of games, thanks to the fact that these intermediate frames are generated without the need for CPU intervention, which usually causes a certain bottleneck. DLSS 3 and its revisions are supported on RTX 40 graphics cards.

So we can currently accept ads for games that accept DLSS 2, DLSS 3, or both. On the other hand, as I already mentioned, there is also DLSS 3.5, but we will have to wait a few more weeks for the debut of this new technology.

Cleared, here’s the news announced by NVIDIA:

  • It was released a few days ago (you can find it in our selection of August releases), Fortress of Solis It already supports DLSS 3.
  • Two very interesting announcements from Gamescom 2023 were Delta Force: Hawk Ops and Project Mugen. There is still no date, at least public, for its arrival on the market, we only know that in both cases it will happen sometime in 2024. And NVIDIA confirmed that they will be compatible with DLSS 3 from the day of its launch.
  • Remember I commented a while ago that NVIDIA and the developers are not forgetting about DLSS 2 users? Well, the latest proof of that is found in this Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle, F1 Manager 2023 and SPRING they already have support for this iteration of the company’s upscaling technology.

And it doesn’t end there, there are still more titles confirmed by NVIDIA:

  • Delta Force: Hawk Ops – with DLSS 3
  • Warhaven which launches on September 21st with DLSS 3
  • Project Mugen – with DLSS 3
  • F1(R)Manager 2023 – available today with DLSS 2
