According to Ukrinform, the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine reports in a Telegram.

“During the war month, there were almost three times as many hacker attacks of various types compared to the same period last year. The most popular types of attacks are phishing emails, malware distribution and DDoS attacks,” it said.

According to Yuri Shchigol, head of the State Special Service, the attack primarily affects state institutions, the financial and defense sectors, telecom operators, local authorities, logistics companies and the media.

“We also see numerous attempts by hackers to hack into sources collecting information about Russia’s war crimes in Ukraine. The State Special Communications Service is working to ensure their cyber defense,” Shchigol said.

The agency said that despite the growing number of hacker attacks, most of them “failed and hardly affected the operation of critical information infrastructure”.

As reported, on February 24, Russian President Putin announced the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops bombard and destroy important infrastructures; using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles, they are mass-bombing residential areas of Ukrainian cities and towns.
