The artificial intelligence-based system, called Swift, was developed by researchers at the University of Zurich in Germany and Intel.
In the race, which was held on the special track designed at the Dübendorf Airport hangar near Zurich between 5-13 June 2022, Swift made the fastest lap half a second ahead of the best lap completed by a human pilot.
