Killnet, a pro-Kremlin hacker group, has hinted that it shut down its online voting system with a DDoS attack. The web service for voting is flooded with traffic, which will make it difficult for it to process requests from users.
The organizers of Eurovision said the situation is under control, and the spokesperson explained that the technicians have taken a series of measures to protect against cyber attacks so that nothing will prevent users from voting the way they want.
In response, Killnet said that the voting system was not protected, but that hackers would not carry out another attack because it was “not worth the time”.
Ukraine at Eurovision
Ukrainian folk-rap group Kalush Orchestra received strong support and made it to the final of the competition.
The Kalush Orchestra thanked the audience and those who voted for the band, stating that they “focused entirely on the finals to show that the Ukrainian culture is alive.”
It will be reminded that Russia was banned from participating in the competition, as the organizers believed that their participation could “harm the reputation of the competition”.
