Intel Core i9-14900K, 9% faster than Core i9-13900K in one core

Intel will present 14th generation Intel-Core, including the flagship Core i9-14900K series, in a few weeks, most likely during Intel Innovation 2023, which will be held in mid-September, although some rumors suggested that the introduction of this new generation will not take place at the said event, but will take place in mid- October Be that as it may, the deadline is measured in weeks, not months.

we know that too this generation will be divided into two architecture families. Intel Core-K will be, on the one hand, a Raptor Lake refresh, that is, they will keep the same architecture as in the current thirteenth generation (Raptor Lake), while on the mobile platform we will see a change in architecture, with the arrival of Meteor Lake, which, among other news, will have in a VPU encapsulation designed for AI-based tasks, in addition to improving its own performance also thanks to AI.

So what we can expect from the Raptor Lake update is a jump in performance due to both increasing the working frequencies of the cores, as well as the possibility of using DDR5-6 400 memories and that would be the end of the news. Well, except for the increase in TDP, which we can take for granted, since there will be permanent increases in base frequencies on it. Oh yeah, without official confirmation we’ll see other numbers grow, but unrelated to performance…

So the key factor in Raptor Lake recovery is now the one that refers to the performance increase with respect to Raptor Lake, and today we can find progress in this regard in Wccftech, in which they tell us that Intel Core i9-14900K is almost 9% faster than Core i9-13900K in single-core performance. The performance increase with all cores running is about 7% according to the same source. Specifically, the scores obtained by the chip, which is referred to as a technical sample, are 978 and 18,177 points.

monocore multi-core Difference
Core i9-13900K 899 16,992 8.79%
Core i9-14900K 978 18,177 6.97%

There is no data, yes, on the consumption of the processor, nor on the temperature it reaches when reaching the specified speed, but we can assume that in both cases, they will be numbers that will not leave us indifferent, in both cases high. Recall that the specifications of the Intel Core i9-14900K are 24 cores (8+16) and 32 threads, up to 36 MB of Smart Cache, a basic TDP of 125 watts and clocks between 3.2 gigahertz (base) and 6 gigahertz. (turbo).

If the recently leaked prices turn out to be correct, remember that the Intel Core i9-14900K would be priced at $695, compared to $600 for the i9-13900K, so in this case we are talking about an increase of almost 16%.
