SpaceX sets a new launch record

The company launched 21 Starlink Internet satellites into orbit at 22:47 ET (September 4, 02:47 GMT) aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on the evening of September 3.

According to company founder and CEO Elon Musk, this was SpaceX’s 62nd orbital mission in 2023 and set a new record for flights in a year. The old sign was set in 2022.

In the evening, the first stage of Falcon 9 returned to Earth as planned. Just Read the Instructions The drone landed approximately 8.5 minutes after it took off from the Atlantic Ocean. According to SpaceX’s mission statement, this was the 10th launch and landing of the launch vehicle.

Meanwhile, Falcon 9’s upper echelon continued to fly. The 21 Starlink satellites are scheduled to be deployed to low Earth orbit (LOO) approximately 65 minutes after launch. The launch was part of a big day for SpaceX. The company is also bringing home four astronauts from the Crew-6 mission, which has been aboard the International Space Station (ISS) since March.
