After acquiring the NUC series from Intel at the beginning of the summer, Asus is now officially starting to sell products from its own portfolio.
As of September 1st, the Intel NUC series is officially part of the Asus portfolio. The computer manufacturer will inform you about this. NUCs, short for next unit of accountare small computers originally marketed by Intel itself. The modular things were typically sold without storage or memory, allowing customers to configure them themselves.
Intel announced in July that it would permanently stop manufacturing and developing NUCs. This development aligns with Intel and CEO Pat Gelsinger’s efforts to refocus the company on its core business: designing and manufacturing processors. A week later it was announced that Asus would take over the entire NUC organization and even wanted to create a new branch for it.
Asus hasn’t developed any new devices yet, but is currently selling the old ones. The thirteenth generation NUCs are therefore the latest models, although in the agreement with Intel Asus acquired the right to further develop the NUC for future processor generations.
