According to increasingly persistent rumors, the American technology company Rubrik is preparing for an IPO.

According to Bloomberg, the American column is preparing to go public later this year. The American company for data protection and management in the cloud already enjoys (financial) support from Microsoft, but would like to collect between five and seven hundred million dollars with this investment round.

Money matters

The message comes from sources who would be familiar with the case but wish to remain anonymous. Rubrik is said to have discussed the IPO with several analysts who needed to study the company’s operations in order to make forecasts and growth analysis based on them.

The investment round could possibly start as early as October, but the stated amounts of 500 to 700 million US dollars can still change depending on the market and the exact period. According to the same sources, these factors could even ensure that the public IPO does not occur until before 2024.

Rubrik has yet to respond to the reports, but the firm has since added seven more names to its team of investment banks. These already included Goldman Sachs, Barclays and Citigroup. According to the Reuters news agency, the trio had already been hired in June to prepare for an IPO. New additions now include Mizuho Financial Group and UBS Group AG.

Last month, Rubrik expanded its security activities by acquiring Israeli start-up Laminar, which specializes in data security for the cloud. Financial details of this deal were not released.
