Short videos. Any app that wants to overly retain its users should invest in this format. They’re on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and will soon be on the Google Play Store. Google wants to increase the discovery of new apps through the short video format.
To do this, it initiates a pilot test in the United States where it introduces the function. “Game Report”. This will give maximum attention to the video format as soon as we open the Play Store to promote the games they want us to download.
In partnership with creators and game experts, Google is starting to roll out one of the most relevant features to come to the Play Store. Currently the first tab in the Google app store is “For You”. in, a selection of personalized recommendations apps and games.
Featured applications in this section are at the top, but they are always in banner format and have an installation button inside. This is the way the Play Store highlights the apps it wants to increase downloads for.
Starting today, a pilot test begins, in which they will go even further. Short-form videos introduced It’s located at the top of the For You tab, so these are the first things we’ll see as soon as we open the app. They will be played automatically and we may not click or click on them to continue the audio playback. In the lower right corner we will see the download button.
We hope that with the comprehensive implementation of this function, we will be able to disable data usage to avoid fears of our interest rates at the end of the month. There is currently no confirmed information on this subject.
Currently testing is limited to a small group of users in the United States and there is no word on when it will arrive in Europe.
