Automaker Toyota Motor Corp. He said Wednesday that the suspension of all auto assembly plants in Japan in late August was due to server failures in the computer system during routine maintenance work.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by Xinhua.

Toyota’s domestic production was halted due to a glitch in the system that orders parts from the automaker’s suppliers. It was stated that the company transferred the data to a higher capacity server and resumed production the day after the failure.

The company confirmed that the failure was not caused by a cyberattack and assured that it would review its maintenance procedures to prevent similar failures from happening again.

On August 29, Toyota Corporation announced its intention to temporarily suspend the work of all 14 auto assembly plants in Japan due to a malfunction in the production system.

Toyota stopped production last year after one of its suppliers was hacked.
