Microsoft is releasing a new update for its Paint program. The company is introducing a new feature that aims to allow background removal.
A new update for Microsoft Paint is coming. In several Insider channels, users can now test the ability to remove backgrounds from images.
The new feature is only available in Insider channels Canary and Dev (version 11.2306.30.0) for now.
The new function should make it possible to easily remove a background with one click. Thats how it works:
It should be that easy to be able to dissolve an entire background into thin air. You can also use the rectangle in the image to measure a specific piece you want to remove.
Microsoft states that version 11.2306.28.0 of this update is buggy, but a new one (11.2306.30.0) fixes this issue. Therefore, Insiders who want to test this and provide the necessary feedback should download the correct version.
News broke last month that Paint is getting a touch of AI with an image generator. A few years ago it looked like Microsoft would completely delete the program itself, but that was just a sketch unrelated.
