Microsoft is introducing an important update to Paint that will take the app to the next level

The Redmond giant continues to work improve Microsoft Paint, one of the oldest and most popular applications in the core Windows ecosystem, and thanks to the latest update that hit the Insider channel, we were able to discover what will be your next step in this sense.

The Canary and Dev channels of the Windows Insider branch have received a new update that introduces a new feature in Microsoft Paint, namely completely remove background from photos. Its operation is very simple, because from what we could read, it works automatically, that is, it detects the elements of the image and performs the process of removing the background with a simple click.

For more complex cases and for those where the result achieved with the automatic mode does not convince us We have the option to make the selection manually. The manual tool is also very simple and easy to use, and the result will fully match the elements we have marked.

Microsoft Paint Background Removal feature

In the animated image just above these lines, you can see how this new tool works in Microsoft Paint. The truth is like this The result it achieves is quite good, although it seems that the cropping of some parts could be improved. All in all, considering we’re talking about the humble Paint, I don’t think we could ask for much more.

Performance is also worth noting, with the background removal process being completed in seconds, although I think this will also depend on the capabilities of each individual computer. To use this new feature, we need to have the app installed Microsoft Paint version 11.2306.30.0 or higher, and that we are on the Canary or Dev channel.

We don’t have a specific release date for this new feature in the general channel, but it’s likely that Microsoft will reserve it for inclusion in a future Windows 11 Anniversary Update. These updates introduce Major improvements and new featuresand those that extend the operating system support period.

Unfortunately, too They are the ones that usually bring the most errors and the ones that usually cause the biggest problems, so it’s always a good idea to wait to see how each new update behaves before running an update. If Microsoft Paint doesn’t convince you and you’re looking for alternatives, don’t miss this article.
