Originally released in 2003, then under the name GoBlocks, Roblox has not stopped evolving over all these years, both in functions and in official geographical scope. Today is the Roblox Developers Conference 2023, a meeting for developers and users of the platform, and it is safe to say that those responsible came to the meeting with their homework well done. And there are no less than four particularly relevant news, and they will undoubtedly be a joy for their users.

The first is undoubtedly something long overdue, and it is Roblox is finally coming to PlayStation, both for the previous and the current generation. This is not an absolute surprise, since it was already known last year that Sony wanted to hire an expert on the platform, and last month, thanks to information for investors, it was known that they were considering the transition to PlayStation and Switch (it has been present on Xbox for some time).

On the other hand, and for ease of design, Roblox will have an AI-based chatbot to help build virtual worlds. In the presentation shown by the people in charge, the user only has to indicate what type of environment he wants to create, and the AI ​​will automatically generate the elements associated with it, in a design that the user can later modify if he wishes. .

The company also announced future launches video calling systembut with the peculiarity that instead of the actual image of the users, will show their representation through their animated avatar which, to obtain realism, will reproduce the actions of the user.

Last but not least, especially for creators of assets that are later used in games, Roblox will allow monetization of these elements directly on the platformwhich also improves the current profit sharing model between creator and company.
