After testing the display, camera and audio system, DxOMark laboratory specialists checked the autonomy of the flagship from Xiaomi. Despite fast charging and almost two days of battery life, the device took only 53rd place in the overall ranking.
Xiaomi 12 received a 4500 mAh battery with support for fast wired charging at 67 W and wireless up to 120 W. The DxOMark lab tested the phone’s battery with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. Experts noted the high charge rate, but the low autonomy of the device.
On the plus side, the smartphone can be charged up to 80% using wired charging in just 27 minutes and 21 seconds. Wireless charging is called excellent and charges up to 80% in 34 minutes 55 seconds. Despite these advantages, there are problems with the autonomy of Xiaomi 12: with intensive use, the device lasts 29 hours, with moderate use – up to 45 hours. In terms of autonomy, Xiaomi 12 was ahead of, for example, Samsung Galaxy S22, but it turned out to be far from Realme GT 2 Pro.
“Regardless of whether default settings or calibrated, the device has an overall above-average autonomy, mainly due to its high power requirements,” the lab writes.
Of the minuses, the laboratory noted problems with music and video streaming, calls and games, poor performance when using GPS navigation, high discharge when playing music, and high power consumption when the gadget is fully charged and is on wireless charging. As a result, the phone’s battery ranked 53rd in the global DxOMark rankings and 14th among premium devices.
