The dangerous asteroid with a diameter of 1.2 kilometers, which disappeared 34 years ago, is approaching Earth. This was reported by NASA’s Center for Near-Earth Object Research.
According to the center, the asteroid will approach the Earth at minimum distance on October 3. It would be 0.042 astronomical units, or almost 6.3 million km. At the same time, scientists are also evaluating potentially hazardous objects that pass from Earth’s orbit at a distance of less than 7.5 million km.
It is stated that the asteroid, which can reach a diameter of 520 to 1200 meters, moves at a speed of 20.96 km per second, was first noticed in 1989 and then disappeared for almost 34 years. Source
