Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison will jointly announce major news on September 14 at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, Washington.

No more information is known than in the introduction above. Both Microsoft and Oracle will release an important update on their collaboration on September 14th.

In the past, Microsoft and Oracle have worked together to make it easier for customers to run enterprise workloads on each other’s cloud services. For example, today they can leverage Azure capabilities such as analytics and AI within the Autonomous Database in Oracle Cloud Services.

Later, this collaboration was expanded to include all Oracle Cloud applications to be made available in Microsoft Teams via conversational AI.

Maybe the big announcement on September 14th is that Microsoft is bringing generative AI services like Microsoft 365 Copilot or Bing Chat Enterprise to Oracle? For now, it remains to be seen what will actually be announced.

Earlier this week, Ellison hinted in a quarterly update that Oracle and Microsoft will work more closely together. “We want to significantly expand the existing multi-cloud collaboration with Microsoft. “Azure customers will soon be able to use the latest Oracle Cloud database technology in combination with Azure Cloud Services.” Oracle’s co-founder and CTO offered no further explanation.
