Bethesda is already preparing Starfield for DLSS

Starfield, Bethesda’s hit new title that rolled out to all users a week ago today, He did it with plenty of highlights, but also some shadows. The weight of each, which is something extremely subjective, will result in everyone’s perception of whether or not it’s a good game. In my case, although I could only devote a few hours to it, I think so, and as a reference I am left with this assessment by a colleague Isidro, which seems to me to be the most accurate.

Among its weaknesses, I will not point out some bugs, since there were quite a few at launch, which is understandable for a release of this type. Of course, it would be best if the games hit the market without bugs, but given their monstrous size, I think it’s only fair to value them based on quantity and relevance, on both consoles. The numbers are respectably low..

However, the same does not happen if we are talking about optimization and support technologies aimed at improving performance.. Due to their relationship with AMD, Bethesda decided to leave out Intel (XeSS) and NVIDIA (DLSS) technologies in this title and focus exclusively on FSR 2. This move, which turned out to be a mistake, had to be corrected by the community modderwhich handled support for both technologies in the Bethesda title.

However, it seems that the developer is already working to eliminate this bug, because, as we can read tweet from your X account, Bethesda is already working on bringing DLSS support to Starfield. There is no timetable that tells us the expected date of its arrival, but they indicate that it is among the most widespread requests of its users, so we can imagine that it will have a priority position in their To-Do.

Although XeSS is not mentioned in the report, it is stated that they are “We work closely with Nvidia, AMD and Intel on driver support, and each update will include new stability and performance improvements.«, from which we can deduce that maybe not at the same time as DLSS, but that at some point Starfield it will also gain official support for Intel scaling technologythus completing the adaptation to the scaling and image and performance technologies of the three major manufacturers in the industry.

As an NVIDIA user, of course I’m glad that Bethesda has DLSS support on their list, but really I think the dev should also prioritize support for Intel Arc Alchemist. And let’s recall that the developer’s own technical support even stated that its graphics cards do not meet the minimum requirements, complete nonsense, as we already explained here,

The announcement comes alongside the launch of the first update for Starfield, which Bethesda defined as “a little review focusing on a few of the main issues we see«.
