Huawei and Xiaomi announced that they have reached a global patent cross-licensing agreement. These patents cover numerous communications technologies, including 5G. This means, among other things, the end of the patent dispute between the two Chinese giants.
Recall that in March, Huawei sued Xiaomi for infringement of four patents, mainly related to wireless communication technology, camera and screen lock technology.
Last year, Huawei generated $560 million in revenue thanks to licensing and patent cuts. Over the past two years, the company has made more money than it paid out, meaning its conceptual patent balance is positive.
