Sony has announced that PS Remote Play is now compatible with Android TV devices running Android TV OS 12 or later. This means PlayStation gamers can now stream PS4 and PS5 games to TVs and other streaming devices using the PS Remote Play app.

The update is now available on Google TV (4K) and Sony Bravia XR A95L TV on Chromecast. In theory, any streaming device running Android TV 12 or above should be compatible, but Sony didn’t say that directly in the announcement. However, the company said that PS Remote Play will be coming to more Android TV devices in the near future.

This is a significant expansion of PlayStation’s integration with Android TV devices. Previously, PS Remote Play was only available on smartphones and tablets. PlayStation players will now be able to enjoy their games on the big screen with a more immersive experience.

Alongside PS Remote Play, Sony has also announced a number of other features for PlayStation gamers. For example, registered players in the US and UK will now be able to use voice commands to navigate Sony’s help pages and check out new PS5 features.

Towards the end of September, PlayStation will also introduce additional features for the PS App on iOS and Android devices. For example, players will be able to see another person’s sharing screen before joining a group in the PS app.

Sony has also made a number of other improvements to the PS5 console, including Dolby Atmos support, larger M.2 solid-state drives, and haptic feedback for accessibility purposes.
All in all, this is a positive update for PlayStation players. Advanced integration with Android TV devices gives players more opportunities to enjoy games. The new features for the PS App and PS5 console are also nice additions.
